Clean Sweep Chimney Service

COVID-19: We have limited some of our en-suite laundry services to better protect ourselves and clients.

Although the majority of our work can be done with protective gear and/or from the outside we will be listening to the advice of B.C.'s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

Clean Sweep Chimney Service is a Vancouver based company specializing in fireplaces and dryer vents. We offer a broad range of services including inspections, cleans, repairs and maintenance. We are strata specialists for twenty years.

Welcome to Clean Sweep website! We hope you will enjoy browsing through our website, and that you will find a lot of useful information here. We pay great attention to the quality of our service. You can find detailed information about chimney and dryer vent care. We are family owned and operated.

Greater Vancouver Proposed Fireplace Restrictions

* A seasonal restriction on the use of indoor residential wood burning appliances between May 15 and Sept. 15 - beginning in May 2021. Appliances include fireplaces and wood-burning stoves.

* Registration requirement for indoor residential wood burning appliances, based on the amount of particulate matter released – beginning in September 2022.

* Prohibition of residential wood smoke emissions from unregistered appliances, unless other conditions apply, from September 2025.

“We are generally recommending that any fireplaces that have not been cleaned in recent years to be cleaned and inspected for repairs this year to ensure that they continue to meet any requirements moving forward.”

Metro Vancouver is asking that wood burning fireplaces be registered and that a “Best Burning Practices Declaration” be signed and renewed every 3 years. Users will be required to sign up and register with their name, address and fireplace appliance serial code (if they have one) and they will also have to sign a document saying that they understand safe burning practices. All of this will be done through the metro Vancouver online portal.

The Online Portal to register your Residential Wood Burning Fireplace can be found at the Metro Vancouver website.

"Fire has always been an important part of culture. It is an ancestral reward system that creates a feeling of safety and survival. We don't get enough of that elemental fire in the modern age. Prescribe some fire. Burn baby burn." - Zachary Gessell
